History and Architecture

In 1929, the young architect Siegfried Mazagg designed the Berghof--which was soon to become the model for the "Alpine Bauhaus" style. The curvature of the facade follows the sun, and the clean lines of the Grand Lobby, the dining room and the furnishings exude a timeless elegance and a cozy warmth.

This history and the architectural descriptions of the hotel were taken from the book: Hotelarchitektur, Bauten und Projekte fŸr den Tourismus im alpinen Raum 1920 bis 1940, by Joachim Morderer; Benno Peter, Innsbruck Haymon, 1993.
